Hal is back on the blood, and trying to hide it from Alex and Tom. Alex is trying to make sense of Bobby’s apparent suicide, suspecting that Captain Hatch may be involved; she and Hal pay a visit to Rook, stealing one of the civil servant’s files on the series of suicides that have plagued Barry Grand Hotel since the 1920s. Back at the hotel, Tom rescues a young girl, Natasha, from the clutches of a thug; quickly falling for the girl, he promptly gives her a job. However, when Hal meets Natasha he reacts badly a bloody cut on her hand; he tries to fire her for her own safety, but Natasha has worked out that the hotel manager is a vampire, and she offers him a deal: a place to stay, in return for drinking her blood; Hal reluctantly agrees, keeping their arrangement a secret from his friends… Returning to ‘Honolulu Heights’ after a date with Natasha, Tom turns to Hal and Alex for advice on ‘the birds and the bees’ – but ends up going to the library to find out for himself. Continuing her investigation of the suicides, Alex tries to show Hal that Captain Hatch is faking his illness by pushing him out of his wheelchair; but the attempt that goes badly wrong, and an angry Hal orders her to stop her persecution of the old man. Undaunted, Alex later ‘Rentaghosts’ into the sleeping Captain’s room – but then the old man wakes up and looks straight at her; terrified, Alex teleports away to Hal, only to discover him feeding from Natasha in one of the hotel rooms. Furious at Hal’s deceit, Alex throws him out of ‘Honolulu Heights’; then Tom finds out from Natasha about Hal’s bloodlust, and he vows to kill his friend. Rook is pleased that his plan involving Natasha has caused the Trinity to fall apart – but he is unaware that his actions will also enable the Devil himself to rise…
